Research Committee Terms of Reference
The Research Committee is responsible for providing advice and endorsing Skillset's Research Programme as outlined in Skillset's Research Strategy. Whenever feasible and appropriate members will:
- Steer the ongoing development and implementation of Skillset's regular surveys including the Employment Census, Workforce and Employer Surveys.
- Advise and guide on the design, methodology and reporting of such surveys so that the design reflects the industry, and that data produced optimally inform national, regional and sectoral policies.
- Provide advice and help with publicity and distribution of surveys.
- Provide advice and guidance on the implementation of strategies to maximise census and survey responses.
- Support and help to promote Skillset's research work, authoritative LMI and interests within and across the Creative Media Industries and within members own companies and organisations using ones own networks.
- Advise on potential funding opportunities for Creative Media Labour Market research.
- Provide a forum for discussion on issues related to Skillset's research programme, for example; occupational mapping and the development of qualification requirements.
- Advise on the production of information generated via Skillset's Research Programme that supports government objectives, meets departmental requirements, and where relevant, complements major national or official sources of information.
- Contribute to Skillset's overall strategy and performance management through the Chair and/or Deputy Chair's attendance at annual Council Meetings.
