About the TV Freelance Fund
The Creative Skillset TV Skills Fund invests in training and development activities that will benefit the UK television industry.
Freelancers make up over a third of the TV industry's workforce, but only a fifth of TV employers carry out training and development for the freelancers they employ, and this is usually on the job training.*
If you are a freelancer, you can be sure that the courses supported by the Fund are of a high standard and meet the current needs of the industry.
This year the Fund's priority is to subsidise courses aimed to develop creative leaders and entrepreneurs, and enable TV professionals to create content for multiplatform delivery.
Training organisations offering courses in line with the Fund's priorities can apply to have their courses assessed and selected for inclusion on an exclusive list which individuals with Creative Skillset funding can access.
The Creative Skillset TV Skills Fund is the result of an agreement between UK broadcasters and the Indie Training Fund (ITF) to invest in training for the freelance television workforce. The contributors are: BBC, Channel 4, Five, cable and satellite companies, and the ITF via contributions from member companies.
