TVFF CPD Programme: Information on the new priority and delivery structure for 2009
The Skillset TV Skills Fund is following a new structure in 2010/11.
Most Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes will be supported via Bursaries this year. Training providers will be able to bid to Skillset for their courses to be assessed and selected for inclusion in the Funded Courses section of Skillset's Media Courses database. Individual TV professionals will apply for a bursary from Skillset to subsidise their fees solely on these courses.
Please note that both the Multiplatform Bursary Scheme and the Craft & Technical Bursary Scheme have closed due to all funds being allocated. The Management & Leadership Bursary Scheme and the Health & Safety Bursary Scheme are still currently open.
Two priorities (New Entrants/Junior Professionals and Management & Leadership) will be funded with direct grants, and the funding programmes for these will be announced in early autumn 2011.
This new structure has been put in place following a review by the Skillset TV Skills Council in early 2009, aiming to improve efficiency in light of the uncertain financial climate and to support the right schemes at the right levels.
