A Bigger Future - The First Year
A Bigger Future 2, launched in 2010, is the second phase of is the UK Film Skills Strategy, A Bigger Future.
A Bigger Future 2 focuses on addressing the vital skills and training needs of the industry. Success over its first year has already resulted in:
- 3,000 places on training courses as Continuing Professional Development for industry professionals;
- Over 1,000 one-to-one careers sessions to freelancers, employees and new entrants with our award-winning careers service;
- Over 400 bursaries to freelancers and employees to go on a training course of their choice;
- Over 50 places on apprenticeship-style schemes with on-the-job learning;
- Over 70 individuals benefitting from our Company Development Support programme with finance, HR and business training.
During the year 2010/11, Creative Skillset awarded over £3 million of funding to training initiatives to help train the UK film industry in the industry-identified priorities.
