Competition Winners get a Head Start in Post Production
Are you passionate about a career in post production? The eleven winners who entered the Post Production Competition were!
The competition, as part of National Skills Day 2007, was to:
- experience the working day in several post production companies
- network with major industry professionals
- win state of the art software
- attend intimate seminars and Q&A sessions
The 4-day competition run by Skillset, Soho Editors and Apple enjoyed successful climax on Thursday 19 July, in the form of a Q&A and networking event at Stanza Bar & Restaurant.
The Q&A panel saw the Managing Directors of Clear Cut Pictures, Resolution and Unit Post being grilled by the eleven winners on entry into and the future of the post production industry. Feedback from the winners was very positive and, with a couple of the participants receiving offers of work, the companies involved also benefited from the experience.
Other companies who took part in the company placements and networking included Framestore CFC, The Moving Picture Company, The Club PC, Scrub, Smoke & Mirrors and DGP Soho.
This opportunity forms part of National Skills Day (more information about this here - What Did You Do for National Skills Day?) and is about giving students a real taste of the world of work in post production, with relevant experiences and key contacts which they can take with them in their search for employment.
